Curriculum
All Kids provides a child development program that enthusiastically promotes:
- A healthy and safe enlivenment for children;
- regular communication with parents and family members;
- specially trained teachers and assistants;
- adult-child ratios which ensure quality care and individualized attention;
- nutritious meals and snacks;
- frequent, positive and warm interactions among adults and children;
- planned learning activities and material appropriate to each child's developmental age;
- an opportunity for children with diverse abilities to participate in child development services together.
All Kids possesses separate curriculum for the following groups:
Infants:
A developmentally appropriate curriculum is provided that includes reading, rhyming, singing, gross and fine motor skills, signing, recognition activities, outdoor play, and routine care such as diapering, and hand washing. The infant program is highly individualized to meet the infants routine such as when the infant naps and when the infant is hungry. Each infant is given love through cuddling and individual attention each day. If a parent has a specific schedule that they would like us to follow, we will accommodate them. As a standard,
All Kids follows the recommendations for curriculum from the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
Toddlers:
All Kids provides developmentally appropriate activities for children 18 months to 3 years. Once a child has reached 3 years, they are transitioned into a Pre-Kindergarten class. Activities for toddlers include routine tasks such as diapering, potty training, hand washing, tooth brushing, and clean up. These skills are incorporated to further children's learning of self help and social skills. Other learning activities include reading, singing, signing, art, gross and fine motor skills, outdoor play, alphabet, numbers, and Spanish. Each toddler classroom possess learning stations to incorporate science, manipulatives, quite area, and art as recommended by the NAEYC.
Pre-Kindergarten:
The Pre-Kindergarten program promotes the same skills as toddlers. However, the activities and skills are adjusted to be age appropriate. The curriculum incorporates creative programs and NAEYC recommended activities. In addition to the continuous learning of skills, children are prepared to enter Kindergarten. Learning stations are also used in the Pre-Kindergarten level with age appropriate activities. Pre-Kindergarten classes also participate in field trips throughout the year. Such field trips include trips to Shiloh House Adult Day Services for intergenerational activities with Senior Adults, Young's Jersey Dairy, and a pumpkin farm.
